Health: G20 Goals

For the first time, a G20 presidency has placed health at the center of G20 discussions. Guided by the 2030 agenda, the G20 is committed to promoting well-being for all people at all ages. Under the title of 'Promoting Health' bacterial infections and the resistance to antibiotics will be addressed. Furthermore, G20 health ministers will engage in a pandemic preparedness exercise to improve the resilience of health systems. Last but not least, access to health is an important topic for G20 negotiations.

The G20 working group on health is meeting from February 28th to March 2nd 2017; the G20 Health Ministers convene May 19th to May 20th 2017. The G20 Sherpas are continuing their work on the G20 health initiatives until the G20 summit in Hamburg in July 2017.
